Warning Signs:

It is possible not to have these warning signs and still have gum disease. Also, most people do not feel pain with the disease. This is why regular checkups and periodic radiographs with your periodontal office are important.

  • Red, swollen, tender gums
  • Bleeding while brushing or flossing
  • Gums that have pulled away from teeth
  • Persistent bad breath or bad taste
  • Pus around the teeth and gums
  • Loose teeth
  • Change in the way the teeth fit together when you bite
